New British Supply is a satirical Public Information Film, imagining a scenario in which the UK Government has cut a post-Brexit energy deal with Hell. The resulting switchover from the old 50Hz electrical frequency to 66.6Hz causes spontaneous nationwide hauntings and possessions.
Referencing the nuclear paranoia of Cold War instructionals such as Protect & Survive, it advises householders how to prepare for an imminent demonic manifestation in their living room, and how to exorcise a wifi router. It uses the same doublespeak and ‘woke-washing’ visual tropes used by big corporations and governments to obscure problematic policies and motives.
